McLaren names rotation…

The Tacoma News Tribune is reporting that manager John McLaren has named his 2008 starting rotation. Baring any unforseen injuries or set-backs the rotation is deep, talented, and impressive: Erik Bedard, Felix Hernandez, Carlos Silva, Jarrod Washburn, and Miguel Batista.

Dave Neihaus Hall of Fame Bound

Bedard named opening day starter…

Left-hander Erik Bedard, obtained last week from Balimore in a 5-player deal, will start on Opening Day. Bedard was expected to compete with Felix Hernandez for the top spot in Seattle’s rotation, but Mariners manager John McLaren said he informed Bedard of his decision on Wednesday.

Mariners ink Wilkerson

As expected Brad Wilkerson and the Mariners agreed to a $3 million, one-year deal, a move that mostly likely indicates that Seattle is close to finally acquiring pitcher Erik Bedard the Baltimore Orioles.
